How was your hair styled before you went natural or locked?
Well I've been both natural and locked so before that, my hair was relaxed. I had a short bob right before I started wearing braids and the rest is history.
What did you like/dislike about your previous hairstyle?
When I was natural, the thing that I hated most was that when I woke up, I looked like I'd just been in a fight...and lost. Even when I wrapped my hair up at night, I still looked awful in the morning. I figured if I didn't want to see myself in the morning, neither would my boo. So I had to find a style that enabled me to stay natural but look halfway decent too.
How long have you been natural/had locks?
I'll be locked for two years in April but I've been natural for over 5.
Why did you decide to go natural/grow locks?
Not sure. I guess I just stumbled upon the whole natural thing. While I was in school I had braids for the longest time. When I finally got sick of them and saw how long my newgrowth was, the decision was kinda made for me.
For a while I sported a 'fro, then twists then...well, I tried everything. I don't know when I got fed up with my hair. I guess I realized it wasn't going to grow any longer so the only logical step was to lock.
