How was your hair styled before you went natural or grew dreadlocks?
I wore a perm for years and every week I would go my hairdresser get washed and blow dryed then sit and wait until she sashayed in 2 hours late. One day I had enough and told her to cut it off.

I wore a natural or texturized natural for about three years. In October of 1998 I cut off the texturizer and got comb rolled in January 1999.

What did you like/dislike about your previous hairstyle?
The inability to maintain the style and the bouncy spring of your hair right after it is done.

How long have you been natural or growing dreadlocks?
My locs will be five years old in January 2004

Why Dreadlocks?
I was tired of the grind at the salon. Waiting two hours for my hairdresser to arrive, while I sat with my hair blow dried. That issue and just the problems of caring for permed hair were bothering me. So, my husband met up with an acquaintance one day and he was wearing locs. My husband got the name and number of his friend's loctician. I was in Virginia visiting my niece and my husband called and said he found a hairstyle that he thought I would like.
