Palm-rolls, like finger twists, is the traditional method used to start manicured dreadlocks. This method requires the most maintenance. Palm-rolls come undone fairly easily when washed.

I've got a problem I use a mixture of palm rolling and finger twisting as some of the twists on the back of my hair are too short. Because i do them myself I sometimes get impatient with re-twisting and clipping as a result I believe some twists have begun to lock in 2 different places . so basically both my roots and the ends of the twists are locking nicely but there's a bit of hair in the middle that hasn't how can I get that bit to conform ? will i have to loosen from the root and re-twist
